The George is an unspoilt, family run pub in the Peak District village of Alstonefield, above Dovedale.
The pub is small, with a bar, snug to the side of the bar and dining room. The bar has portraits of locals, historic artefacts and a homely fire.
The dining room and snug have been restored to their original simplicity with lime plastered walls and farmhouse furniture. Candlelight and fresh flowers add a touch of elegance.

The Farm Shop is in the stableyard to the rear of The George in part of an old, Grade II Listed coach house.
We sell Lower Hurst Farm's organic beef and lamb as well as a carefully selected range of products including sausages, home cured bacon and honey from Derbyshire, fresh fruit and vegetables, artisan bread and free range eggs from a farm on the South side of Ashbourne.
We source products from specialist suppliers and from our own pesticide free vegetable patch.
